WipeBook - The last notebooks a project manager or business analyst will ever need.

Have you ever been in a highly productive and collaborative meeting only to look at the white board and wonder how you were going to capture all that information on paper? Perhaps you just wrote “SAVE” on the side of it, and temporary claimed the entire space as your own. Or, maybe you took out your smart phone and snapped a picture of it. Yes, you’ve solved your problem, but wait… now what do you do it? Well, I think I may have just found the answer to our problems.

Meet the Wipebook, a product where whiteboard meets notebook. Frank Bouchard is the inventor who originally came up with the prototype. Frank’s a part-time Engineering Management student at the University of Ottawa working full-time for the school’s Adventures in Engineering program.

His philosophy was simple, provide a medium that allows you to generate the best possible ideas. The notebook is apparently amazingly smooth and is perfect for temporary notes and creative design. The paper can be scanned, used as printer paper as well, and is environmentally friendly as well.

When I stubbled across the Whitebook, my initial reaction was, “That is so cool. Finally someone did it.” Sure I tried to use my iPad with a stylus in the past, but it never met my needs. It just felt unnatural. I can’t tell you how many times I was working on a process re-engineering project or trying to translate a product managers requirements into something visual, where this product would have been perfect.

Upon watching the youtube video that Mr. Bouchard put together, I decided to treat myself to a Christmas gift this year. I went to www.kickstarter.com and made a pledge of $40. My wipe book 2.0 and markers are due to arrive in January. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to let you know how it works.

Nice job wipebook team. I can’t wait for my wipebook to arrive.
